Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use RepairAhead, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, zoom or other assistive technology.
What we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. Pages are plain HTML with headings, labeled form fields, keyboard-reachable controls, text alternatives for the diagrams and charts, and layouts that reflow on small screens without sideways scrolling.
How we check
We test each change with an automated checker (axe-core) and check page layout at phone width (390 pixels). Automated tests don't catch everything, so we also check keyboard use by hand.
Known limits
- The engine-bay diagram is an illustration. Everything it shows is also listed in the cards and table below it.
- The VIN and recall check depends on NHTSA's public services. If they're slow or down, the result may take a while or show an error message.
- The paid report is a PDF. If you need it in another format, email us and we'll send an accessible version.
Tell us about a problem
If something on the site or in a report is hard to use, email [email protected] with the page and what went wrong. We'll reply within 5 business days and work with you to get you the information in a way that works for you.
